It was the year 2000, Our beloved Bills were playing the Titans to move a step closer to the big game. As the Bills led with just seconds to go, the unthinkable happened! "The Music City Miracle." The Titans ran the kickoff back with no time on the clock to win the game!
Now instead of wearing a Bills jersey, I had to be creative and come up with a new concept for the big game. We decided that we would safety pin a Rams and Titans Jersey together to make one. It wasn't the best looking jersey in Atlanta, however it was by far the most popular jersey in town. Just walking down the street people were staring left and right, coming up asking where we got it, asking to take pictures with us. News reporters from all around the world interviewed us and commented on how awesome our design was.
Fast forward one year, instead of safety pins we had a few jerseys sewn. It was Tampa, Florida the Wednesday before the big game. We saw a Mall on the side of the highway and decided to stop. Little did we know everything was about to change! As My friend and I browsed the mall looking for souvenirs to bring home, Nelly, A new rapper from St. Louis, Happened to be Shopping for his Halftime show wardrobe. As he approached me I know exactly who he was, and the coolest thing is that he wanted what we had - Our jersey!
As we spoke with Nelly, he told us that we was performing on the halftime show of the big game! and This years show was anticipated by all, Featuring Aerosmith, N'Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, and Nelly! The jersey was exactly what he was looking for. After giving him the jersey, we parted ways and the last words that he said to me were "I won' let you down."
It was a moment in our lives that we will never forget. Sitting there waiting to see our concept in the national spotlight. Aerosmith, N'sync, and Britney Spears kicked things off. Before we knew it, there it was Nelly burst on to the stage wearing our jersey! It was the most amazing feeling ever! And a day in our lives that will never be forgotten.
A week after the halftime show appearance, We found out that Nelly would be performing live on David Letterman. To thank him we launched our new concept. The "Home and Away Jersey" We sent him a Home and away Rams Jersey. And he wore it that night on the show!
